The spending veto threat, continued
Club for Growth reports that 147 Republican House members have signed a letter pledging to uphold a veto of any bills featuring excessive spending, which I previously mentioned here.
Good for them and way to get their name on paper, and extra kudos to those who organized the effort. Those organizers - Hensarling, Ryan, Flake, and others - have long been good, consistant advocates on cutting spending. But it's disheartening to realize that many of the others who signed on never would have done this when the GOP was still in power and have done it instead to stick it to the Democrats.
If we're not going to be consistant, why bother having a platform?
